Parke Diem 2017

Join in, lend a hand and UNITE for Parke Diem, October 14th, 2017

In partnership with United Way of Northern California, Redding East Rotary and Redding Parks Foundation, the City of Redding will be hosting its third annual Parke Diem park cleanup event.

After receiving 51 nominations for various projects throughout the city, East Oak Park at 1399 Arizona Street in Redding was selected for a $10,000 makeover.

Volunteers of all ages are needed for a work day (rain or shine) on Saturday, October 14th, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Volunteer work includes landscaping, cleaning, painting and brush removal. It's all hands UNITED to transform this valued play space!

Carpe Diem, a Latin phrase coined in 23 B.C., literally translates to “seize the day.” “Parke Diem” pays homage to this historic aphorism by challenging Redding residents to support the city’s many beloved parks. Supporters of the event hope that Parke Diem will become a valued city-wide tradition, fueling individuals and park advocates around the city to instigate other park revitalization initiatives.

Please join us as we "Seize the Day" and UNITE our city!
