VITA/EITC

KEEP MORE OF YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY, FILE YOUR TAXES FOR FREE!

File taxes for FREE with the Internal Revenue Service's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, available to qualifying Shasta County residents.

VITA is brought to you by United Way of Northern California with support from Redding Bank of Commerce. The VITA program offers tax preparation and e-filing to individuals and families who make less than $60,000 a year and is administered with the help of volunteers who are trained and certified according to IRS standards.

VITA helps put earnings back in the pockets of low- to moderate-income workers in the form of tax refunds and tax credits. The free service also saves taxpayers the expense of tax preparation services, which average about $300. With more money in your pocket, you’ll be on your way to saving toward a better future.
