Join us for United Way of Northern California's 5k “Spring into Color” Run/Walk fundraiser on Saturday, April 4, 2020! We are partnering with Feather River Recreation & Park District to hold this fun event during the12th Annual Wildflower and Nature Festival at Riverbend Park in Oroville.
In November, we take up to 300 students impacted by the 2018 wildfires on a Target shopping spree for needed school supplies, clothes and other necessities.
Breakfast of Champions Youth Summit
Now in its 3rd year, Breakfast of Champions is United Way of Northern California’s signature event. In 2018, we had more than 250 attendees and 36 businesses involved. This event includes a full breakfast, youth performance, and the presentation of our Youth Champion Awards honoring individuals, nonprofit organizations and businesses that made a major impact on the lives of North State Youth.
Proceeds from the Breakfast of Champions event help provide continued support to United Way of Northern California's Youth Initiatives.
Throughout California, the cost of living is rising and wages aren’t keeping up. Many families can’t afford basic needs, even those with two working parents. When families can’t make ends meet, they face additional problems such as not having enough food and not saving for retirement, college or a home.
United Way of Northern California is working to build financial stability in our community. We host free Financial Literacy Train the Trainer events that invite community members to come learn how to teach financial management to others. Attendees learn about saving money, managing a checking account, lowering expenses and budgeting, along with other financial skills.
Project Homeless Connect
The United Way organizes and raises funds for Project Homeless Connect’s 76 Community Day of Service in Northern California. This expo-style annual event provides people experiencing homelessness with critical services such as:
- Medical/dental care
- Banking services
- Housing/shelter info
- Veteran services
*Services vary based on availability and need.
