From the Quarters to Lincoln Heights | Film Screening Dec. 18, 2022
United Way of Northern California hosted a showing of From the Quarters to Lincoln Heights, a documentary by Mark Oliver that tells the story of how an African American population came to be in Weed, CA, after migrating from the south in the 1920s. The screening took place in downtown Redding at the beautifully renovated Riverfront Playhouse. Around 100 people were in attendance, and many donations were raised at the door. All proceeds from this event will aid the Lincoln Heights community. Thank you so much for your participation. We couldn't have done it without you!
Boss of the Toss | October 8, 2022
Our 1st Boss of the Toss tournament was a HUGE success! We could not have done such an event without the support of Columbia Bank, C&H Cornhole, Zelma’s engraver, Tantardini’s, Promotional Images, Starbucks, Mosaic, Sheraton, Savor Shasta, Squishy Doodle Face Painting, and Simpson University. Our many other sponsors and In-kind donors amazed us with their generosity.
We had a total of 60 teams of two competing, 42 baskets of raffle prizes with over $10,000.00 in in-kind donations, 12 vendor tables, 38 sponsors, and 115 businesses involved.
Winning the 1st Place grand prize was Deuce 1, TWT in 2nd Place, and 3rd Place The Empty Nesters.
“It takes a Village”, and we are so grateful to all who participated this year–thank you! We are excited to see you again for NorCal Boss of the Toss 2023!
