In addition to raising funds to support dozens of local nonprofit agencies and programs that are providing critical services in our community, United Way of Northern California supports programs that help advance the common good.

Programs At A Glance

2-1-1 is a free phone number and an online searchable database that connects community members to health and human services for everyday needs and in times of crisis. For more information visit 211 NorCal HERE.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to qualifying people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. Learn more here or schedule your free tax prep appointment for the upcoming tax season HERE.

United Way of Northern California works with Bank On to improve the financial stability of North State residents. We believe everyone should have access to a safe, affordable bank account. Fill out the application form by clicking HERE and a staff member will contact you.

United Way of Northern California has been responding to disasters such as wildfires since the 2014 Boles Fire, and we have continued to help with recovery efforts for the Camp Fire, Carr Fire, the 2020 Slater, North Complex - and Zogg wildfires and 11 wildfires in 9 counties during the summer of 2021 that have impacted Northern California.
